OUR STORY
+

Why do we as a community interest company exist...well the same reason as most charitable entities do really and that's passion and a desire to help. Back in 2018 an idea was born, one that was rooted in pain, trauma and frustration...

Founded by a Veteran with lived experience of service related injuries, the PALS was an idea and a journey of discovery born out of a loss of identity; how to fit back into society once the uniform came off?

A resounding question that was ever present whilst carrying both the physical and mental scars of service life.

During extensive clinical support for PTSD & mTBI many weeks and months were spent sitting and waiting for the next clinical appointment, the next visit, the next event, most of the time spent at home, alone.

With regular sporting and social activities keeping you busy whilst in service life, the camaraderie and bonds made too was also missed...the same question kept popping up in between these gaps...where does all that go after the uniform comes off and where do you begin to make friends as a veteran?...A keen interest in history and a mission to find veterans and isolated community members in the local area started...

An idea became a name, a name became a website and a passion to continue serving (albeit in a different capacity) was born. That idea was The PALS Battalion, an idea that has seen 'The PALS' grow from starting as just a website, with no real understanding of where it was going to go, to developing into a whole host of sporting and community projects amalgamating the veteran and civilian populous in sporting and community projects.

Volunteers, beneficiaries, members and supporters alike from all over the country have helped and supported everything from local food bank drives to national food bank campaigns. From playing football in a park to becoming multi trophy winning official football clubs. Local and regional work by the PALS has also helped to develop partnerships and multiple community and sporting projects ranging from football to motorsport, combat sports to cycling, rugby to running and much more.
Our story is routed in a determination to help others and a passion to make a positive difference.

OUR VISION
+

In brief, our vision is to improve the veteran, service and wider community via sporting and community projects.

We strive to keep the utmost professionalism and highest work ethics in everything we do, values and standards
akin to those displayed within any walk of service life and we do so with a heart full of passion!

Having faced a plethora of challenges on this journey...we are very proud of the mission and it's progress, we continue to work hard towards developing a community of like minded volunteers and beneficiaries whom, through positive action, strive for change within the veteran community, the wider community, for themselves and for others too.

We are excited to continue growing this community and would love to hear from you.
If you feel you could benefit from being involved in some way shape or form, then please do get in touch.
